Questions about Enquiry
Enquiry takes the contact form on your website and emails each enquiry to you, with files and spam handled. Here is what people ask before they switch.
What is Enquiry?
Enquiry is a form backend: you point the contact form on your website at one URL, and every enquiry is emailed to you, with any files attached and spam held back. You don’t need a server, a plugin or any code of your own.
Each submission is also kept in a dashboard, where you can search it, export it as CSV and release anything that was wrongly marked as spam.
Do I need to write any code?
No. A plain HTML form works: set its action to our URL and add a hidden field with your access key. The docs have copy-and-paste code for HTML, JavaScript, React and Astro if you want the form to answer without leaving the page.
How do I switch from Web3Forms?
Change the form’s action to https://enquiry.bromputers.co.uk/submit/ followed by your new access key. Your field names, the botcheck honeypot, subject, from_name and replyto work as they did, and redirect does once your website is on the form’s allowed list.
Your past enquiries can come with you: export the CSV from Web3Forms and import it into the form in the dashboard. Details are in Moving from Web3Forms.
What happens to spam?
Every submission goes through a honeypot field, a spam score (links, URL shorteners, known spam phrases, throwaway email domains, repeats) and, if you turn them on, a list of allowed websites and a Cloudflare Turnstile or hCaptcha check.
Anything that looks like spam waits in the form’s Spam folder instead of your inbox. Nothing is silently deleted: “Not spam” sends it on as normal. Spam doesn’t count towards your monthly submissions.
Can visitors send files and photos?
Yes. Images (JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, HEIC, AVIF) and PDFs, up to 10 MB each and five per submission by default. Each file’s type is checked from its contents, not just its name. Files under 5 MB in total are attached to the email; every file also gets a download link that works for as long as the submission is kept.
Will my enquiries actually arrive?
Emails come from notifications@enquiryform.bromputers.co.uk, a sending address set up with SPF and DKIM so mail providers can check it’s genuine. Each delivery is recorded and retried if it fails, and you can see what was sent in the dashboard.
Before anything is emailed to an address, its owner confirms it with one click. Enquiries that arrive before then wait and are sent the moment the address is confirmed, so nothing is lost while you set up.
Can the visitor get a confirmation email?
Yes. Turn on the autoresponder and the visitor gets your thank-you message, with a copy of what they sent if you want. To stop it being used to send email to strangers, it only works on forms that have a captcha and a list of allowed websites, and it sends at most three a day to any one address.
Where is my data kept, and for how long?
On Cloudflare. Uploaded files are stored in Cloudflare’s EU region. You choose how long each form keeps its submissions, up to a year on the paid plan; after that they and their files are deleted. Visitors’ IP addresses are stored only as a salted hash, for rate limiting and spam checks.
How much does it cost?
One plan: US$10 a month, or US$100 a year, before tax. It includes 10,000 submissions a month, unlimited forms and websites, file uploads and the autoresponder. See pricing.
Is there a free plan?
No. There will be a 14-day free trial when self-serve signup opens. Until then, ask for access and we’ll set your account up.
Who runs Enquiry?
Bromputers, a small web studio in Bromley, London. We built it for the websites we make for our own clients, and we run it on our own sites too.
